How have the Physical changes on the Idaho State University campus changed student views?
Student opinion is always changing so we are always adding more case studies of the current events on campus that change how the university is being effected.
This analytical study dives into the question of how have the physical changes to the Idaho State University campus affected student opinion? This issue is important because with in the past six years there have been large amounts of physical changes and improvement on the campus. This study is conducted under the comparison between the coverage of two news medias in the Pocatello community over events or changes to the ISU campus. The two medias are first, The Bengal, the student newspaper of ISU and The Idaho State Journal, the newspaper of the Pocatello community. Three different cases were studied: First, the change in the smoking policy, second the controversy of the Benny the Bengal statues, and finally the enhancement of ISU Athletics facilities.
Purpose of These Studies
As shown in Figure 1 there have been numerous changes to campus in the past years. This research is merely an initial study which deserves more data than is provided in this study. The purpose of this blog is to find how student opinion has been effected by this changes.

Current Results
In the studies conducted thus far there were some shocking results and findings that were not expected. The original question that was the focus of this study is as follows:
How have physical changes to the Idaho State University campus affected student opinion?
It was hypothesized that a discovery of student opinion will yield a result of an improved perception of the University but in great measure remains the same. It is also hypothesized that the over student opinion is highly negative. This hypothesis was correct in the first statement and proven incorrect in the second. This opinion of student toward the image of the university has greatly improved over the past few years. That opinion is a positive opinion with dissent. Many students believe and feel that the physical changes to campus have helped improve the university and have created a sense of pride among students. The dissenting portion of the opinion comes from other facilities that have yet to be improved.
The following list is key results found throughout the course of this study.
1) Resolutions that are put forth by ASISU that alter the physical atmosphere of the campus tend to lead to great changes in University policy and student opinion. When resolutions of ASISU are completed they do change student opinion in a positive manner.
2) Symbols are the most influential items that help change student opinion in relation to the university. The creation of the bronze Bengal has had great impact on student opinion of the university.
3) ISU athletic facilities enhance student opinion but do not greatly impact how student view the university. However a side product of this study was that of community opinion toward university athletics. As the teams of ISU athletics improved in and out of the classroom the support of community came out even more. The supports from the community lead to the enhancement and construction of several facilities on campus.
